The HOSA ILC allows members to expand health care knowledge, hone their leadership skills and connect with other HOSA members across the world. This year, qualifying South Dakota HOSA members competed in events and attended workshops, general sessions and meetings. Through interaction with thousands of international participants and successful participation in a wide range of competitive events, South Dakota HOSA made its mark on the conference.

“South Dakota HOSA students represented our state very well at the international conference,” said Brock Rops, executive director of South Dakota HOSA. “We continue to send more and more to the annual conference every year where they have the opportunity to apply their skills in an array of competitive events. We hope these experiences build confidence in these students as they continue on their health sciences journey.”

Payton Colter, an incoming senior at Harrisburg High School, said that the conference was a wonderful and enriching experience. “Over the course of the week, we embraced HOSA,” she said. “We built new relationships with other South Dakotans and people around the globe. We furthered our knowledge in enlightening workshops, grew as HOSA members and leaders, and created memories that will last a lifetime and will remain a powerful part of our individual journeys in health care.”
