At “Give Kids A Smile” events, uninsured or underinsured children aged 0-18 who are residents of Clay County can get exams, cleanings, X-rays, sealants, fluoride treatments and limited dental work at no cost.

“Events like ‘Give Kids A Smile’ reflect USD Dental Hygiene’s commitment to supporting the health and well-being of our community. This is our third year of hosting, and we are thrilled to continue providing essential dental care to children in our area,” said Molly Molencamp, lecturer in the Department of Dental Hygiene.

“Opportunities like this prepare our students for their future careers while giving them meaningful hands-on experience as they work alongside dedicated professionals, making a real impact on the families we serve,” continued Molencamp. “We are grateful to our faculty and staff who volunteer throughout the day, and we are especially thankful for the support of Dr. Matthew Knutson and Dr. Katie Lee, who generously share their time and expertise.”

The initiative is part of the nationwide American Dental Association's Give Kids A Smile program, which aims to address significant, yet preventable, dental diseases in children.
