We provide residents with a challenging curriculum, diverse pathology and plenty of one-on-one attention. Our program is a great place to work and live as a pathology resident, and our recent graduates have all matched with competitive fellowships in surgical pathology, breast pathology, hematopathology, cytopathology and dermatopathology.

The USD Sanford School of Medicine Pathology Residency Program provides a four-year ACGME-accredited program in anatomic and clinical pathology. The pathology resident training program provides residents a broad, comprehensive pathology background and opportunities to gain experience in all sub-specialties. The concepts of graded and progressive responsibility under the guidance and supervision of faculty members, along with a focus on lifelong learning, are the core tenets of our educational program.
