Susan Puumala, PhD is a Professor of Practice in the MPH program specializing in biostatistics and epidemiology. She has been involved in medical and public health research for over 20 years.
Currently, I teach graduate level biostatistics and epidemiology.
My research portfolio is diverse, supported by my background both in research methodology, health disparities, and pediatric epidemiology. My previous research projects include such topics as implicit bias in the health care setting, assessment of hospital design, the impact of environmental factors during gestation and early life on disease and development, and evaluation planning for evidence-based programs in health care and community settings. In addition to my primary research projects, I have been able to assist with methodological and statistical aspects of studies providing support for basic science research, clinical trials, and population health studies.
