The lecture is titled "Meme Law — the First Amendment on Social Media.”

"This is a becoming a larger issue for our generation because of the rise of social media,” said third-year law student Dani Rang. “There's also been multiple lawsuits directed at officials and their pages, so this is an evolving area of law that many students have expressed an interest in."

Feeney’s work focuses on the intersection of new technologies and civil liberties. His writing has appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, HuffPost, The Hill, the San Francisco Chronicle and Washington Examiner. He received both his B.A and M.A in philosophy from the University of Reading.

The event is hosted by the USD Law Federalist Society.
