School of Law Agricultural Society Hosts Guest Lecture Sept 26
Dillard of OFW Law in Washington, D.C. will speak about his experience in agricultural law and his firm’s involvement in the Keepseagle v. Vilsack case where Native American farmers and ranchers alleged the USDA’s Farm Service Agency engaged in discriminatory lending practices.
"We’re excited to have Mr. Dillard come all the way from Washington, D.C. to present on a topic that is so relevant to our state and our school,” said Kelcy Schaunaman, a third-year law student and president of the Agricultural Law Society.
The discussion will focus on challenges facing Native farmers and ranchers, and the mission of the Native American Agriculture Fund which was created as a result of the settlement.
The Agricultural Law Society is a student organization within the School of Law with the purpose of promoting educational opportunities for those interested in the nexus of agriculture and the law.
