A Bush Fellowship provides up to $100,000 to recipients over 12 to 24 months to pursue learning experiences that help them develop leadership skills. Fellows can use the funding to pursue advanced education, networking and to access leadership resources, worships and trainings. Seiber intends to advance health equities for LGBTQ people and will connect with experts around the country regarding health disparities of this population.

A total of 684 people applied for a 2019 Bush fellowship and only 24 were selected. Candidates must be at least 24 years old and be a resident of North Dakota, South Dakota or Minnesota, or one of the 23 Native nations within those states.

Seiber, a Sisseton, South Dakota, native, is an enrolled member of the Sisseton - Wahpeton Oyate tribe.
