USD Audiology Doctoral Student Studies at NYU
“I am incredibly excited to have been chosen as NYU's Cochlear Implant AuD extern this next year. NYU only accepts one extern each year, so I feel very honored to have been chosen for the position,” said Entwisle. “My graduate program here at USD has helped prepare me for future success, and I am thankful for all of the opportunities that have been made available to me as a student.”
Originally from Huron, South Dakota, Entwisle is a 2014 honors graduate in communication sciences and disorders from USD. At NYU, she will receive first-hand clinical experience in all aspects of cochlear implant care, such as cochlear implant candidacy, cochlear implant programming and follow-up for both adults and children.
Entwisle called NYU Langone's Cochlear Implant Center “one of the flagship institutions for cochlear implant programming.“ She credited USD’s doctoral program for helping her achieve the honor.
“I had a lot of support from instructors in my doctoral program to seek out and apply for an externship position at a nationally recognized institution. I knew that I had the academic, clinical, and research experiences necessary to be considered for a competitive externship position, but their support was definitely the push I needed to help make that happen,” said Entwisle.
