The conference opens at 8:30 am at Aalfs Auditorium in Slagle Hall with a presentation of 2018 awards to School of Health Sciences faculty and staff, expressions of gratitude to Gene Thin Elk, Director of Native American Student Services, and also to USD President James W. Abbott.

The keynote address will be delivered by Dr. Kory Zimney, assistant professor in the Department of Physical Therapy, and recipient of the 2017 faculty research achievement award.

Research presentation sessions begin at 9:50 am in Lee Medical Building. There will be 27 oral presentations distributed over four separate time periods in seven different settings in the Lee Medical Building. Themes of these presentations fall under seven different categories: Athletics, Education, Neurologic, Geriatrics, Pediatrics, Occupations/Professions, and Rural Care.

Students and faculty in different professional programs within the School of Health Sciences will also be presenting posters and brief descriptions of research projects at approximately 10:40 am in the atrium area of the Lee Medical Building. There will be a total of 31 poster presentations.
