The press conference will be held in the Mary D. Nettleman room in the Wegner Health Sciences Library in the Health Science Building in Sioux Falls.

Speakers include USD President Sheila K. Gestring, School of Health Science Dean Haifa Abou Samra, Ph.D., Center for Disabilities Executive Director Eric Kurtz, Ph.D., LifeScape CEO Steve Watkins, and South Dakota Department of Social Services Sec. Laurie R. Gill.

“We are excited to announce this new program that is focused on helping children and families in South Dakota,” said Samra. “It is the result of much collaboration and cooperation with our partners in the state.”

LifeScape is an independent, non-profit organization, serving adults and children in Sioux Falls, Rapid City and Sioux City. The organization supports more than 5,500 children and adults annually and employs more than 1,100 staff members. It is the only private intermediate care facility in South Dakota and the only agency of its kind in the state serving children and adults across their lifespan.
