USD to Host Unity Week Nov. 1-4

Unity Week begins with a panel in the Muenster University Center Ballroom at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 1, titled “Shades of Excellence: A Conversation with Rasheena Nash and Tazbah Chavez.” The panel will feature Chavez and Nash, two women of color who are leaders in the entertainment industry and have written and directed for major platforms like Disney, Hulu, Netflix and more. The panel discussion will be moderated by Megan Red Shirt-Shaw, director of Native Student Services.
On Thursday, Nov. 2, students are invited to attend the “Until Lions Write Scripts Workshop: Unleash the Power of Your Story with Daniel French” in Churchill Haines 101 at 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3, there will be a First Friday Native American Heritage Month Kickoff event in the MUC Pit at 5 p.m.
The week concludes on Saturday, Nov. 4, with the inaugural Unity Ball in the MUC Ballroom. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and food will be served. The event will also feature a live DJ, a photobooth and a music performance by Daniel French. Tickets to the event can be purchased prior to the event at this link for $10 or for $15 at the doors.
