Visiting Artist Talk by Janet Braun-Reinitz
Braun-Reinitz, from Brooklyn, New York, is a muralist, painter, teacher and activist committed to social justice. Her ongoing commitment to social justice began in 1961 when she was a freedom rider who was arrested and jailed in Little Rock, Arkansas. Her installation, “Ladies Who Go There!” with fellow artist Sarah Maple, is currently on view in the University Libraries through Oct. 19.
A guided installation visit to “Ladies Who Go There!” will take place after the event at 3:15-3:45 p.m. by Lauren Freese, Ph.D., assistant professor in the USD Department of Art and Sarah A. Hanson-Pareek, curator of photographs and digital projects at the University Libraries.

The exhibition is located at the top of the stairs on the second floor of the library and open to the public during library operating hours.
