After graduating from USD with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration, Carter pursued a career in Human Resources. She joins the Beacom School of Business staff after 11 years serving as the assistant HR director for the University of South Dakota.

“Human Resources has always acted as a bridge between employees and management, and I’m excited to be this bridge between students and their dream job," Carter said. "I want to help provide students with the confidence and preparation they need for life after college. I plan to use my experience in human resources to help students create professional connections with industry leaders throughout the region as they prepare to enter the working world. The students at Beacom are driven and motivated, and I am excited to be the resource creating these professional connections.”

“We're delighted to have Katie Carter here at the Beacom School Business,” said Venky Venkatachalam, Ph.D., dean of the USD Beacom School of Business. “Katie will be a perfect fit for us as we rapidly grow our student initiative programs and professional networking opportunities. At the Beacom School of Business we take pride in having a 97% placement rate for graduates six months post-graduation and I believe with Katie Carter’s drive and experience, we will continue to be a valuable resource for not only students, but businesses as well.”
