The students shared their experiences with clients, recommendations and key takeaways from their projects. The event included students from both Coyote Business Consulting (CBC) and Coyote Business Consulting-Corporate (CBC-C). The latter consists of larger companies, mainly in the Sioux Falls area, while the former focuses on small, family-owned business and nonprofit organizations across the state.

CBC and CBC-C give students invaluable hands-on experience while also providing South Dakota businesses with free business consulting. After working with Beacom students, some business leaders said they plan to put the strategies and solutions proposed by students into practice. For example, the Children’s Home Society of South Dakota plans to take the human relations-focused recommendations proposed by Elyse Whittemore and Josh Reynolds, both CBC-C students, and implement them later this summer.

Thirty-one students, paired into 16 groups, presented poster presentations and 11 students, paired into 5 groups, shared oral presentations with attendees. The students who presented oral presentations, as well as the companies they consulted for, include the following.

  • Joseph Rangel and Katherine Kolb, Hegg Companies
  • Alexis Collins and Glen Bekoe, Lloyd Companies
  • Hannah Paauw, Katherine Conzet and Kylie Parisien, Straight-Up Care
