The Accounting & Finance Recognition Dinner is an annual tradition that celebrates the accomplishments of both alumni and current students. The event brings together faculty, professionals, honorees, and students to acknowledge academic excellence, highlight achievements within USD’s accounting and finance programs, and recognize professional excellence and service to the field.

Outstanding Service Award Recipients

Three alumni were honored with the division’s Outstanding Service Award for their impactful careers and contributions to the accounting and finance professions.

Anne Cipperley
High Yield Bond Portfolio Manager, South Dakota Investment Council

Cipperley leads high-yield bond portfolio strategy for the South Dakota Investment Council and serves on the Asset Allocation and Risk Committees. An accomplished USD alumna, she contributes to the university through the Economics Advisory Council and the Scholarship Committee. She lives in Sioux Falls with her husband, Kyle, and their two sons.

Bo Larsen
Chief Financial Officer & Treasurer, Titan Machinery

Larsen oversees treasury, accounting, tax, external reporting, financial planning, internal audit and IT at Titan Machinery. A CPA and USD graduate, his career spans leadership roles in finance, investor relations and precision technology across major regional and global organizations. Larsen and his family reside in Fargo, North Dakota, but always consider South Dakota home.

Doug Shull
Former Iowa State Senator, CPA, Civic Leader

Shull has built a distinguished career in public service, financial leadership and community involvement. His experience includes serving in the Iowa Legislature, chairing county leadership, and holding executive roles such as Chief Financial Officer of Casey’s General Stores. He continues to contribute to civic initiatives across Iowa.
