USD Announces Search for Beacom School of Business Dean
The new dean will replace Venky Venkatachalam, Ph.D., who is now the dean at the College of Management and Distinguished Professor of Management Science & Information Systems at the University of Massachusetts Boston. Mark Yockey, Ph.D., has been serving as interim dean since April 2022.
“We are excited to bring a new dean on board who will help the Beacom School of Business expand its already successful efforts to serve businesses across the state, educate the next generation of business leaders and conduct the cutting-edge research that makes Beacom the leading business school in South Dakota,” said Kurt Hackemer, Ph.D., provost and vice president for Academic Affairs.
Finalists for the Beacom School of Business dean will be selected in late February to early March. Campus interviews will be held in April. USD will select a dean in May.
The national search is led by a committee chaired by Bruce Kelley, Ph.D., dean of the USD College of Fine Arts.
