Originally from Jefferson City, Missouri, Logston studies with Tracelyn Gesteland, DMA, professor of voice/opera in the USD Department of Music and the Walter A. and Lucy Yoshioka Buhler Endowed Chair.

"To be selected as one of just seven national finalists in this competition places Cadie among the most promising young singers in the country,” said Gesteland. “This honor reflects her artistry, her work ethic and her commitment to excellence.”

The audition process included a 25-minute video dedicated to music, which Logston will also perform in person in the final round of the competition. Finals will take place in Chicago on March 23 during the MTNA National Conference.

“I am so excited to have made it to the finals for this competition. I’ve had nothing but wonderful opportunities and successes since coming to USD, and Dr. Gesteland has made sure that I have had every chance to grow and thrive as a performer,” said Logston. “From winning competitions and being cast in lead roles at USD, to performing in roles abroad and in Italy twice, as well as working within the vocal program and with Dr. Gesteland, all of these experiences are a blessing I would never trade.”
