The reception is scheduled for 5-7 p.m. on May 5 in the gallery.

The exhibition, titled “Humanity in Layers,” will feature the work of Isabel Romero, Graciela DeAnda, Luci Hudson, Andelin Bellis, Trinidy Coufal and Sydney Hokanson.

Romero is a studio art major with a specialization in printmaking from Omaha, Nebraska. Her work explores the impact of consumerism on human and animal life. After graduation, Romero plans to continue to her work and utilize different processes within printmaking.

DeAnda is a studio art major with a specialization in photography from Sioux City, Iowa. Her work portrays nostalgic feelings through film and digital photography. Upon graduating, DeAnda plans to start at an art residency program and work with local artists in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Hudson is a studio art major with a specialization in photography from Vermillion. Her work, created with the cyanotype technique, depicts different interactions with aquatic creatures. Following graduation, Hudson plans to continue her work with cyanotype.

Bellis is a studio art major with a specialization in photography from Onawa, Iowa. Her work builds on both the romanticization and criticism of a past identity as a separate entity. After graduation, Bellis plans to expand her network in painting in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Coufal is an art education major with a specialization in painting from Blair, Nebraska. She is a painter that uses expressive mark making and highly saturated colors to capture her figures from real life references. Upon graduation, Coufal plans to teach art to elementary students.

Hokanson is a graphic design major from Sioux Falls. She is a designer that works with various software to achieve client’s goals. Hokanson plans to explore scientific illustration in the future.

The exhibition is open to the public Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
