Teramie Hill

Hill currently works as the registration officer for the Knudson School of Law. The duties of her position include overseeing student placements both during and immediately after their education at law school. Based on the data from the Class of 2024, the Knudson School of Law boasts a 98% career placement rate.

The public sector section of the state bar is composed of attorneys with the mission to address issues pertaining to attorneys that work in government positions focused on providing a service to the public.

“The Public Sector Section is extremely active and is comprised of some of the most respected attorneys in the state,” said Hill. “I am honored to have been chosen by such a dedicated group.”

Renee Stellagher

For Stellagher, receiving the award was an honor and a reminder of why she chose public service and the impact she can make through the law.

“The Rising Star Award is a profound honor that signifies recognition of the meaningful contributions I have made to public service law,” said Stellagher. “It serves as a powerful reminder that public service is valued and reinforces my commitment to advancing justice and equity.”

While attending USD Knudson School of Law, Stellagher became involved in public service by participating in the Low Income Tax Clinic, one of the school’s experiential learning opportunities.

“It gave me first-hand experience advocating for individuals who otherwise could not afford legal help,” said Stellagher. “Attending the USD Knudson School of Law was a transformative experience that grounded me in both the theory and practice of law, especially in serving real people with real problems.”

Currently, Stellagher currenty works in the South Dakota Attorney General’s Office. Wherever her legal career may lead, Stellagher puts her passion for public service at the heart of the work she does.
