The award was created in 2008 to honor South Dakota’s first pro bono legal coordinator, William F. Day Jr., and acknowledges a recent graduate or current law student whose pro bono work has made a significant impact on the lives of people in South Dakota.

Mullaney is part of the first cohort of graduates in the Public Service Pathway program and has a passion for serving the people of South Dakota.

“I have been very fortunate to have an array of wonderful opportunities and it is truly so humbling to be recognized for my work,” said Mullaney. “I am so humbled and honored to receive this award.”

Mullaney is now working at the Minnehaha County State’s Attorney’s Office.
