USD Knudson School of Law Welcomes Class of 2029
The Class of 2029 will begin classes during the fourth week of August. Out of the 96 new students:
- 76% are first-generation law students.
- 41% are non-traditional students, many of them having held careers outside the legal profession.
- 37% are South Dakota residents.
- 63% are from out of state, representing 19 different states as well as Canada.
The 50th percentile LSAT score for the incoming class is 152. Their average undergraduate GPA is 3.63.
In sharing their motivation for attending law school at USD, a common theme among students was the desire to learn in the Knudson School of Law’s supportive environment.
“When I was looking at law schools, I visited several larger programs but kept coming back to USD,” said Melody Beaulieu, an incoming first-year student. “I realized how important it is to me to be in a place where I can build meaningful relationships with professors and classmates, and USD really stood out in that way.”
