USD Law Alumnus Appointed Iowa District Court Judge
University of South Dakota Knudson School of Law alumnus Robert Tiefenthaler ’91, ’94 was appointed a district court judge in Iowa’s Judicial Election District 3B by Gov. Kim Reynolds, announced in July 2022.
“Congratulations to Judge Tiefenthaler for this honor, and congratulations to Iowa for getting a great new judge,” said USD Knudson School of Law Dean Neil Fulton. “Judge Tiefenthaler is part of a great tradition of excellence, service and leadership among USD law alumni. On behalf of the entire law school community, we could not be prouder and more excited.”
Tiefenthaler, who lives in Sergeant Bluff, Iowa, practices law as a sole practitioner in Sioux City.
Tiefenthaler received a bachelor’s degree in 1991 from USD and a J.D. from the USD Knudson School of Law in 1994.
