Undergraduate students that are interested in public service careers should consider working with the Government Research Bureau (GRB). The GRB is an academic research organization that combines intellectual risk-taking with current research methods to analyze issues affecting the State of South Dakota.

By partnering with students to participate in actual research, the GRB fosters a learning environment with close interaction of faculty. This close interaction with student workers gives faculty the opportunity to provide professional feedback and recognition.

It is well known that scholarly activity helps make undergraduates’ resumes more attractive to graduate schools and prospective employers. It also gives faculty members the interaction needed to write detailed letters of recommendation.
