Hands-on learning activities, outside of the traditional classroom.

Learning outside the classroom means gaining real-world experience, knowledge and skills from hands-on opportunities. You'll have the opportunity to support a community agency, study in a developing nation or participate with a research team.

CAGE houses resources for students like you who want to enrich their academic experiences while making themselves marketable after graduation. Students can find opportunities such as:

  • Alternative Week of Off-Campus Learning (AWOL)
  • Study abroad
  • National Student Exchange
  • Undergraduate research and creative scholarship
  • Nationally competitive awards and fellowships

  • Man and woman placing cans in boxes

The Food Recovery Network donates excess food waste from Aramark to the Vermillion Welcome Table. Learn how you can get involved.

  • Volunteer opportunity available to assist a low-income individual in our community move into a better housing situation. If you are available and interested in helping out, contact Tom Koch at (605) 360-9664. Let him know by October 26th if you can volunteer!
