Dear Faculty and Staff,
Many of us have been using Zoom (usd.zoom.us) as our default communication tool to connect and collaborate with each other and our students as we work remotely to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Unfortunately, “zoombombing” has become a growing concern, and USD is not immune to this form of online meeting disruption.
Zoombombing occurs when hackers jump into public Zoom calls to project graphic and other inappropriate content through the screen sharing function.
We want you to prepare for possible Zoom interruption, so please read through the knowledge article on Securing Zoom Meetings in Coyote One Stop for recommendations to secure your Zoom meetings.
Although Zoom continues to be an excellent tool for classes and meetings, public events should consider using another tool:
- Collaborate with Marketing on a webinar
- Use Webex Events
- Record the presentation and post online for viewing
Thank you for your continued efforts in providing the USD community with remote opportunities and experiences.
