Dear Faculty and Staff,

Due to a rise in COVID-19 cases on campus this week, we must reassess our campus operations and take action to protect our community. USD is implementing changes in the following locations:

  • Muenster University Center: Effective 7 p.m. tonight (8/28), the MUC will not permit indoor dining. Students may pick up their food to go, and we have encouraged them to use Grubhub to place their orders in advance when possible. Offices and centers located in the MUC will remain open.
  • Residence Halls: Starting immediately, outside visitors are no longer allowed in the residence halls.
  • Wellness Center: The Wellness Center will be closed, effective 7 p.m. tonight.

We understand that these changes will disrupt our community’s daily routines; please know that these are temporary actions we are taking to flatten the curve. We hope that by working together and making these adjustments, we can increase safety at USD and continue learning and living together on campus this fall. If you have any questions about these changes and USD’s response to COVID-19, please contact COVID19@usd.edu.

Sincerely,

Sheila K. Gestring
