How to self-report

In an effort to keep our campus as safe as possible, we are asking for your help. We urge anyone who tests positive for COVID-19, is experiencing symptoms or has been in close contact with someone who has COVID-19 to self-report by sending an email to COVID19@usd.edu.

Why should I self-report?

By notifying the USD COVID-19 Case Management Team of your health status, you are supporting our efforts to monitor the spread of COVID-19 on USD's campus. This self-reporting process also allows us to connect faculty, staff and students with resources they may need. Students who self-report will receive further direction and resources to ensure they are supported during their quarantine/isolation period and are able to succeed academically.

Will my privacy be protected?

The information you share with the Case Management Team will be managed confidentially. We will use the information you provide to contact you and offer direction, and we also provide the South Dakota Department of Health with necessary information. Your case will be added to USD's total numbers on the COVID-19 Dashboard, though we will not connect your name to any data shared with the public. To protect your privacy, the Case Management Team will not notify your classmates. We will contact your professors to ensure you are able to receive academic accommodations, though we will not mention your COVID-19 status.
