Dear Campus Community,

The number of current active COVID-19 cases on campus has remained stable this week; as reflected on the USD Case Management Dashboard, USD reported 21 current active cases today.

As we celebrate Dakota Days this week, we cannot lose sight of our shared goal: staying on campus until Thanksgiving. Our community has demonstrated great commitment to protecting each other this semester, and the decisions we make each day continue to be important factors in our ability to live and learn together. The university has planned a variety of virtual and physically distanced events that enable us to showcase our Coyote pride while prioritizing health and safety, and we ask that you please choose these activities over options that could jeopardize the well-being of our community. Wearing face coverings, washing our hands regularly and maintaining distance from others are critical in our efforts to #ProtectThePack.

There are eight weeks of classes left in the semester, and we want our community to remain united on campus for the duration of that time. Please continue to make safe decisions and focus on our collective goal throughout Dakota Days and the weeks ahead.

We appreciate your efforts to protect our community. Please visit to access resources, and contact us at to self-report or ask questions about USD’s response to the pandemic.
