Students can complete the secondary education program in a variety of subjects. Actual high school classroom activities and classroom observations begin during sophomore year, and students get extensive classroom teaching experience during the final year of their program.
Students interested in physical education, coaching or health teaching will pursue a degree in the Division of Kinesiology and Sport Management.
If you've already completed a baccalaureate degree and are interested in becoming a teacher, you can complete a secondary education certificate program.
You can also earn certification while taking courses for a different baccalaureate degree.
Education majors interested in teaching are admitted to teacher education programs when they have achieved sophomore standing (completion of 30 hours).
