Beyond interests in general strength and conditioning methods, my interests are in the areas of exercise for Special Population groups, particularly the elderly, youth, and those afflicted with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Research projects include several involving variable loading-based resistance training in adult and youth populations, including several which received NASA funding. My thesis focused on the impact of a variable loading-based training program's potential for reducing biomechanical markers related to lower extremity sports injuries in young female athletes.
