Bio:

kristen a. langellier, Ph.D., NCC, is an Assistant Professor within the Counselor Education Program. She joined the faculty of the University of South Dakota in 2019. A native Illinoisan and a lifelong learner, she has moved around the country to pursue education and be of service to the counseling profession. When not on campus, she can be found restoring old furniture, spending time with her partner and children, and riding her bicycle.


Teaching Interests:

I enjoy teaching many of the counseling courses and have a special interest in teaching the core counseling skills in pre-practicum, social justice and diversity courses, and theoretical foundations of counseling.


Research Interests:

Much of my research interests serve to further social justice efforts within counselor education. My research revolves around the intersections of counseling and feminism, justice and equity, fat studies, classism, and advocacy.
