Faculty and chairs spent the FY13 academic year working on the new strategic plan. A facilitator was hired to lead the initial discussion in two days of meetings in August 2012. From there the department chairs and dean worked on focusing the text to development initial goals, action steps, and metrics from the material provided by faculty at the initial discussion. A faculty committee then reviewed the document and refined it to its present form. The mission statement and strategic plan were given final faculty approval at the May 2013 meeting.
Promoting diversity and inclusiveness is an important aspect of the fine arts. Faculty, students and staff serve a broad community through our belief in inclusive excellence as found inside and outside the classroom, in faculty and student research/creative scholarship projects, and through service work that promotes a broad range of diversity efforts.
