Our resident education program helps medical residents meet the health care needs of children and young adults with disabilities and/or significant health or genetic conditions. Our efforts are focused on their transition from pediatric to adult medical care.

Medical residents will learn to fully grasp the complexities of care and everyday realities for these adolescents while addressing challenges in the field. As part of the program, residents will:

  • Incorporate principles of health care transition
  • Use problem-solving skills to address the essential functions of quality health care transitions
  • Engage patients, family members, health care professionals and other related service providers in the transition process
