Full Week of Events Planned for USD's Dakota Days

A full week of events is planned for the University of South Dakota's Dakota Days homecoming celebration that culminates with Saturday’s home football game against Youngstown State.

Among the planned student, alumni and other campus activities:

Monday, Sept. 28
7 p.m., comedian at Aalfs Auditorium

Tuesday, Sept. 29
7 p.m., Dakota Days Royalty Reveal and Yotes Got Talent at Aalfs Auditorium

Wednesday, Sept. 30
5 p.m., Vermtown Bash at Downtown Vermillion

Thursday, Oct. 1
3:30 p.m., “Is the News Media Helping or Hurting Politics?” panel discussion at Al Neuharth Media Center
5:30 p.m., Dakota Days Fun Run at the Wellness Center
6 p.m., presentation of Al Neuharth Award for Excellence in Media to John M. Seigenthaler at Al Neuharth Media Center
6 p.m., VIP Event at University Bookstore
7 p.m., outdoor movie at Old Ice Arena (across from North Complex)

Friday, Oct. 2
9 a.m.-5 p.m., free admission to the National Music Museum
2-3 p.m., Alumni campus tour
3 p.m., Alumni Marching Band Reunion at Fine Arts Center
5 p.m., Dakota Days Pep Rally at Legacy Statue
5:30 p.m., Alumni Social, Dinner and Award Presentation at Muenster University Center
6:30 p.m., Zumba Party at the Wellness Center

Saturday, Oct. 3
10 a.m., Dakota Days Parade at Main Street Vermillion
11 a.m., tailgating at DakotaDome
2 p.m., USD hosts Youngstown State at DakotaDome

Sunday, Oct. 4
1 p.m., "Make a Joyful Noise" voice and organ concert by Tracelyn Gesteland and Wyatt Smith in Aalfs Auditorium, free and open to the public
