VERMILLION, S.D. -- The University of South Dakota College of Fine Arts will celebrate the creative talent of its students and faculty with USD Night at the Washington Pavilion at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 31 at the Washington Pavilion in Sioux Falls, S.D.

This event will showcase USD students in a dozen musical and theatrical ensembles at the Washington Pavilion’s Husby Performing Arts Center. Featured performances inside Mary W. Performances will feature scenes from USD productions of “Pippin,” “Death of a Salesman,” “Romeo and Juliet,” and “Little Shop of Horrors.” From 5 to 7 p.m. on the main floor lobby area, art students and faculty will showcase their talent in ceramics, printmaking, photography, graphic design, sculpture, painting, art history and travel abroad.

“This event is a great opportunity for the audience to witness firsthand the talent that resides within the USD College of Fine Arts,” stated Larry Schou, D.M.A., dean of the College of Fine Arts, who encourages everyone to come early to see the art demonstrations prior to the concert. “Sioux Falls is the cultural center for South Dakota, and it’s the second time that we’ve done this event (2013) where the USD College of Fine Arts is able to showcase our student and faculty talent.”

USD Night at the Washington Pavilion is free and open to the public, and it begins with a reception hosted by the USD Admissions Office from 5 to 7 p.m. on the second floor mezzanine level.
