USD’s Technology Fellows Program to be Featured on SDPB-TV

VERMILLION, S.D. – A program that pays University of South Dakota students to help professors use technology will be featured on SDPB’s South Dakota Focus program on Thursday April 16 from 8-9 p.m.

The theme of that night’s program is “Job Training in South Dakota.” Eric Mosterd, who oversees the Technology Fellows program, and Tech Fellow Ellie Dailey, a USD junior, will be participating in the panel discussion.

The Tech Fellows Program is run by the USD Center for Teaching and Learning. Students in the program have the opportunity to gain knowledge in various aspects of technology, gain customer service experience and create connections with faculty that they might not have created otherwise, said Bruce Kelley, director of CTL.

“Having this experience gives students tremendous experience for careers in the 21st century,” said Kelley.

Kelley said that past Tech Fellows have gone on to be extremely successful, from being chosen for internships with the South Dakota Legislature to attending medical school.

The State of South Dakota funds the Technology Fellows program at USD, allowing students to earn an hourly wage based on their experience while gaining real world technology work experience. Get more information about the Technology Fellows program.
