VERMILLION, S.D. -- The chair of pediatrics at the University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine has been elected chair-elect of the American Association of Medical Colleges (AAMC) Group on Women in Medicine and Science.
Archana Chatterjee, M.D., Ph.D., is also a professor and senior associate dean of faculty development at USD. She received her medical degree from the Armed Forces Medical College at Pune University in India and her Ph.D. at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska, conducting post-doctoral research in neonatology. Chatterjee did her residency in pediatrics and fellowship training in pediatric infectious disease at Creighton University and the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.
The AAMC Group on Women in Medicine and Science advocates for the advancement of women within the field of academic medicine, including the nation’s medical schools.
