USD Named to 2017 List of Military Friendly Schools

Military Friendly School 2017 USD has been named to the 2017 list of Military Friendly Schools.

VERMILLION, S.D. – The University of South Dakota is on the 2017 list of Military Friendly® Schools, designated by Victory Media, a veteran-owned business that connects the military community to civilian jobs, schools and entrepreneurial opportunities.

The list is based on public data resources for 8,800 schools nationwide along with responses to a survey of schools and student veterans. This year 13 percent of the schools studied won the Military Friendly stamp of approval.

Victory Media works with the Military Friendly® Advisory Council of independent leaders in the higher education and military recruitment community. Final ratings were determined by combining the institution’s survey scores with the assessment of the institution’s ability to meet thresholds for student retention, graduation, job placement, loan repayment, persistence (degree advancement or transfer) and loan default rates for all students and, specifically, for student veterans.

Founded in 1862 and the first university in the Dakotas, the University of South Dakota is the only public liberal arts university in the state, with 202 undergraduate and 84 graduate programs in the College of Arts & Sciences, School of Education, Knudson School of Law, Sanford School of Medicine, School of Health Sciences, Beacom School of Business and College of Fine Arts.
