VERMILLION, S.D. – The University Art Gallery will host the 30th Annual Stilwell Student Juried Exhibition in the John A. Day Gallery Jan. 27-Feb. 24.

The Stilwell celebrates and recognizes the diversity and quality of art created by USD students in the previous year through a peer-juried exhibition. Student work includes graphic design, photography, ceramics, sculpture, painting, printmaking and more.

This year's lead juror is Michael Petersen, principal and founding partner of 50,000feet, a creative agency in Chicago, Illinois. Petersen selected 105 pieces for exhibition out of over 250 submissions.

"People should expect to see a full show," said Michelle St. Vrain, director of the University Art Galleries. "Michael did a great job highlighting all of the emphases in the art department including pieces from freshman all the way up to graduate students. There is a great variety of what we produce each year."

The opening reception is Friday, Jan. 27 from 6-8 p.m., with the awards ceremony at 7 p.m.
