VERMILLION, S.D. – The University of South Dakota Center for Disabilities hosts the ‘Connecting the Dots’ Symposium at the Sioux Falls Convention Center Sept. 10-12.
“The Symposium provides a forum for a diverse audience to come together, share ideas, gain new knowledge, and expand collaborations through a variety of fun, interactive, and engaging sessions and activities,” said Wendy Parent-Johnson, executive director of the Center for Disabilities. “We welcome the opportunity to network and learn from the many participants who make this annual event such a success.”
The event, which will feature keynote speakers such as Russell Lehmann and Sean McElwee of the Emmy award-winning A&E show “Born this Way” and Kevin Locke, a world-renowned hoop dancer, is designed to foster energy and creativity among service providers, educators, employers, persons with disabilities, families and government agencies.
The event will also include breakout sessions to promote leadership and professional development for individuals with disabilities, family members, service providers, and the business community.
