VERMILLION, S.D. – University of South Dakota head women’s basketball coach Dawn Plitzuweit is this week’s featured guest on the university-sponsored podcast Credit Hour.

“Coach Plitzuweit explains how she got into coaching, women mentorship, and her thoughts on what makes a successful team,” said Michael Ewald, host of Credit Hour. “It is a great glimpse into the thought process of a successful coach and leader.”

“The biggest thing (for women) is to carry yourself with confidence,” Plitzuweit said. “If it’s to be, it’s up to me...sometimes you don’t always have control of the exact situation, but you have control over how you react to that do you affect what happens next?”

Plitzuweit was named the 2018 Summit League Coach of the Year after guiding the Coyote women’s basketball team to an undefeated regular season in the Summit League. The Coyotes reached the quarterfinal round of the Women’s National Invitation Tournament this year.
