USD Heritage Club Announces 2019 Schedule

USD Heritage Club The USD Heritage Club, an organization for retired faculty and friends of USD, announces its schedule for 2019.

VERMILLION, S.D. – The Heritage Club, an organization for retired faculty and friends of the University of South Dakota, has announced its event schedule for 2019. Formerly known as the USD Emeritus Club, the Heritage Club was reintroduced to the USD community in 2018 as a partnership between the Office of the Provost and the USD Alumni Association and Foundation. The Heritage Club meets monthly for networking and discussion with a guest speaker.

The event schedule is as follows:

  • January 30 – Meeting with students from the Department of Media & Journalism
  • February 27 – Meeting with Venky Venkatachalam, Ph.D., dean of the Beacom School of Business
  • March 27 – Meeting with Jake Kerby, Ph.D., associate professor of biology
  • April 24 – Founders Day Reception
  • May 29 – Meeting with Bruce Kelley, Ph.D., director of the Center for Technology and Learning
  • June 26 – Meeting with Mary D. Nettleman, M.D., dean of the Sanford School of Medicine
  • August 28 – Meeting with students of the U. Discover Research Scholars Program
  • September 25 – Meeting with David Earnest, Ph.D., chair of the Department of Political Science
  • October 30 – Meeting with Laura Renée Chandler, Ph.D., director of the Center for Diversity & Community
  • November 27 – Meeting with Kathryn Birkeland, Ph.D., associate professor of economics
  • December 18 – Holiday Party
