U.S. News & World Report Ranks Beacom’s Online M.B.A. and M.P.A. Programs Two of Nation's Best in 2019

VERMILLION, S.D. – U.S. News & World Report ranked the University of South Dakota Beacom School of Business online Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) and Master of Professional Accountancy (M.P.A.) programs among the top in its 2019 Best Online Programs Rankings.

USD was ranked 73rd out of 301 schools in the top online M.B.A. programs, an increase of 20 spots and a score improvement of 15 points from the 2018 rankings. In the non-M.B.A. business program rankings, USD’s online M.P.A. program ranked 56 out of 156 schools. For the 2019 report, U.S. News ranked both online M.B.A. and non-M.B.A. programs based on five categories: engagement, student excellence, expert opinion, faculty credentials and training and student services and technologies.

“The continued improvement in rankings reflects the strategic investment we’ve put in our graduate business programs,” said Venky Venkatachalam, Ph.D., dean of the Beacom School of Business. “Our investment includes talented and dedicated faculty, innovative curriculum, enriched online teaching experiences and a continued focus on student learning and success.”

The Beacom School of Business now offers five different specializations to its M.B.A. degree. Students are able to choose a General Business M.B.A. or they can focus their learnings in the areas of business analytics, finance, health services administration, marketing, operations and supply chain management. The M.P.A. program will roll-out a new specialization in accounting analytics in fall 2019.

“It’s an honor to have our online M.B.A. and M.P.A. ranked amongst the best in the nation,” said USD President Sheila Gestring. “The online graduate programs offered at the Beacom School of Business combine high-quality education with convenience at a great value for many students.”
