USD Starting Toastmasters Club

The University of South Dakota is joining other colleges nationwide and starting a Toastmasters International Club that will be open to all faculty, staff, students and Vermillion residents who want to improve their communication skills.

Besides public speaking skills, Toastmasters helps people find the right words during interviews, facilitate meetings and make presentations.

A demonstration meeting will be held 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 29, in the Muenster University Center, Room 211. Beverages and cookies will be provided, but participants are encouraged to bring their own lunch.

Founded in 1862 and the first university in the Dakotas, the University of South Dakota is the only public liberal arts university in the state, with 202 undergraduate and 84 graduate programs in the College of Arts & Sciences, School of Education, Knudson School of Law, Sanford School of Medicine, School of Health Sciences, Beacom School of Business and College of Fine Arts.
