I began my nursing career in 2002 with a BSN from Morningside College, in Sioux City, IA. I then furthered my education by getting my Master's in Nurse Anesthesia in 2007 from Mt Marty in South Dakota. I have worked primarily in a Level II Trauma Center as a Nurse Anesthetist. I have some independent practice experience at rural facilities.
The facility I have worked at since 2007 has nurse anesthesia students routinely. As a staff CRNA I was able to educate them on the roles and responsibilities of Nurse Anesthetists. I was the clinical coordinator for all Student Registered Nurse Anesthetists prior to taking my new position with USD.
I began my official teaching job with USD in August of 2022. I look forward to being a part of the new USD DNAP Program to prepare future CRNAs for an extremely rewarding career.
