Alluring Appeal of the Macabre exhibition on display at The U
VERMILLION, S.D. -- Four students from The University of South Dakota, Kari Hamilton, Sarah Pfeifle, Jill Kruse and Julie Esmay, will display their graduation exhibition,"Alluring Appeal of the Macabre," Monday, April 20 through Friday, April 24 in the Main Gallery of the Warren M. Lee Center for the Fine Arts.
The exhibition will present a variety of work done by each student including photos, sculptures, paintings and drawings. A fascination with the alluring appeal of death overshadows many of the pieces and unites the show. Death is depicted as both ugly and beautiful.
A reception for the artists is scheduled for April 24 at 7 p.m. The exhibition is open to the public Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday night during the reception from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. For more information about the exhibit, contact Cory Knedler, Chair of the Art Department at (605) 677-5637 or cknedler@usd.edu.
