Business Fraternity Staffs Tailgate Trailer
Students from the professional business fraternity Delta Sigma Pi experienced real-world challenges running a game-day retail trailer outside the DakotaDome during the football season. It’s the first year that logo wear was available from the trailer at home games, through a partnership with the University of South Dakota Department of Marketing.
Students were responsible for set up, sales, and closing of the trailer, as well as inventory throughout the week. This partnership gave students the professional responsibilities of running a business and the opportunity to gain hands-on experience.
“We are so pleased that Beacom School of Business students can assist the university with their retail efforts and gain real-world business experience at the same time,” said Venky Venkatachalam, dean of the Beacom School of Business.
Coyote logo wear also is available at Charlie’s store in downtown Vermillion, Jack & Charlie’s store in the Empire Mall in Sioux Falls and via the Barnes & Noble Bookstore on campus.
