CATO Institute Fellow Debates Environmental Regulations at USD
The University of South Dakota School of Law hosted Doug Bandow, senior fellow at the Cato Institute and former Special Assistant to President Ronald Reagan, for a colloquium with USD associate law professor Sean Kammer about environmental protection strategies in a free market economy.
Sponsored by the Federalist Society and USD Law School Democrats, the event titled “Environmental Regulation: Topics in Protection & Free-Market Strategies,” allowed both speakers an opportunity to present information and debate the best practices of environmental protection strategies.
Branden Nethken, president of the USD Federalist Society, said the event was inspired by the increasingly negative tone dominating public discourse.
“As lawyers, professionalism is an implied task,” said Nethken. “But if you foster a professional conversation with events like this, you might come to an agreement.”
