Lash, the president of Lash and Associates Publishing/Training, Inc. in North Carolina, is author of many manuals, workbooks and tip cards on the effects of acquired and traumatic brain injuries in children and youth. As a consultant to school systems, she focuses on the cognitive, behavioral and social impact of trauma to a student's developing brain and provides tools and strategies for practical application by educators in the classroom. In addition to the educational needs of students with brain injury, she addresses the emotional needs of parents for support and communication following the onset of their child's disability.

Lash’s presentation is open to educators, parents, speech language pathologists, occupational/physical therapists, counselors, social workers, and anyone who may work with or have a family member with a brain injury. The conference is at the Sioux Falls Hilton Garden Inn, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, and 8:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 14.
