Chief Justice Gilbertson Receives Outstanding Service Award
The award was given to Chief Justice Gilbertson by CPCM advisory board member and court improvement coordinator for the South Dakota Unified Judicial System Sara Kelly.
“His support and leadership have helped advance South Dakota with improvements in how the court system handles child abuse and neglect cases” Kelly said. “His support of child welfare leaders and lawmakers makes him a true champion for children and families."
Chief Justice Gilbertson advised those working to end child maltreatment to keep up their good work. “I hope each one of you takes satisfaction in your work because you are doing a very important task.”
After 25 years on the Supreme Court and 35 years as a judge in the South Dakota Unified Judicial System, Chief Justice Gilbertson will retire at the beginning of 2021.
